What is Turbo mode and why don’t Colortrac scanners use it?
Turbo mode is a special scanning mode where the document is scanned at the selected resolution across the scan, but at a lower resolution along the scan.
After scanning, the lower resolution is interpolated up to match the selected resolution.
When a scanner is in Turbo mode, it scans faster than when it is in normal mode.
Colortrac large format scanners do not have a Turbo mode because we do not believe that Turbo mode has a practical use other than to make a scanner look faster on a spec sheet.
Turbo mode can compromise image quality, and our wide format scanners are fast enough without it.
